Let's Hope the Movie is Better Than the Lame Theme

I ♥ Bond themes almost as much as I love the 007 movies. I'd heard some big name rumors associated with Quantum of Solace, most notably Amy Winehouse (obviously unavailable) and Duffy (not our Duffy). The last bunch of songs have been awesome (and in some cases, better than than the movies - I'm talking to you, Tomorrow Never Dies), so of course my hopes were way up high!!

Seriously, Alicia Keys and Jack White's Another Way to Die is the worst Bond theme EVER, and I'm including the awful License to Kill and Goldeneye in that statement.

You can listen to the song here, but you'll probably turn it off before it's done playing (especially if you're a Bond-theme fan). It's that bad.

Incidentally, doesn't Jack White look like a fat, pasty Giovanni Ribisi in this picture?

For My BFF Lokiec!

By request! Just kidding! While Lokiec does ♥ her some Britney, she does NOT like this song. I have to say that I like some of her other new songs better (Piece of Me), and it's definitely not as good as some of her "classics" (Toxic, Stronger), it does seem like a return to form for Ms. Brit. So here, with no sign of the Mickey Mouse ears that launched her career or, in fact, her clothes, is Britney's semi-new video for her hit single (#1), Womanizer. And honestly, Lokiec, it was this or a political rant. :)

Josh watched this with me a laughed every single time McCain talked. I'm not sure if he got the humor or if he just thinks that McCain is some sort of Muppet...either way, his laughing made me laugh, which made him laugh, until we were both roaring. The clip is actually pretty funny!

NaNoWriMo 2008

Well, once again this year, the people who run NaNoWriMo were apparently taken by surprise by the increase in users, even though there are traffic estimation tools available and everyone knows that the event's popularity spikes yearly. 15-30 minutes are wasted at minimum each day of NaNo trying to get your Word Count uploaded. As Baker @ Toasted Cheese pointed out, that's like time to write 500 extra words a day, wasted.

For example, "Paste your entire manuscript here and our robots will count it for you and update the word count on your author profile." Field is greyed out. Nice usability! That was after the page failed to load like five times.

I had originally committed to my third year of NaNo but changed my mind, because I have another novel to finish editing. However, that "I committed to something so now I HAVE to do it" self-imposed guilt won out. While I'm not expecting to finish, I'm expecting to guilt myself into a frenzy trying to balance too many projects at once.
